See the donations page for more information. Did we mention that we do all this while having a great deal of fun?
We welcome new members and hope you will take the time to read about our club. . Ask any member and they will confirm it is a great experience no matter how busy they are. By clicking on

Club members are very motivated and constantly seek ways to raise money. Two fundraising events are the Cosmo Tots’ Treasures and a Curling Funspiel. As well the area Cosmopolitan clubs are one of the five member hosts in Rock’n August and volunteers from our club are very busy then as this is a major event in St. Albert. In additionl we also cohost the John Short Charity Golf Tournament with the two other area Cosmo clubs; plus our club works several bingos and the occasional casino. One of our projects involves the sale of Dana’s Disease, a book written by a local author about his experiences when his three year old daughter got type 1 diabetes. Various other fundraising activities occur as ideas are presented to the membership.

CANADIAN IS PAST PRESIDENT OF COSMOPOLITAN INTERNATIONAL

Jim Smith, a dedicated Cosmopolitan of the Saskatoon club, and made us proud by visiting all of the clubs in Canada and the United States. It was important to reconnect with clubs to inspire thtem to newer heights. We are proud to say that our group has grown in membership and that large sums continue to be raised and we come closer to a signicant breakthrough in diabetes..

Sturgeon Valley is active in the Western Canada Federation with two of our members serving as Lieutenant-Goveneurs. Shawn Larson and Lynn Anderson are working hard at making the Canadian group stronger and bringing their expertise to our own club.

The clubs belonging to the Western Canada Federation are found in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta. These clubs have done amazing activities to raise funds such as mountain climbing, races, etc.The money raised helps fund the Canadian Foundation Canada Inc. and then is largely used for research such as the islet transplants which have made such a difference in so many diabetic individuals. Many members also contribute to this foundation on a yearly basis.

Service, Unity, Action

Our motto helps us build friendships and work together to find a cure for diabetes!
