We are always looking for new members. If you are a person who can work well with a group of people and would like to help us raise money to find a cure for diabetes and to help with community needs that are not being met by other means you might consider joining us. We need people with all sorts of skills and so the activities you would be involved in would depend on which ones appealed to you. The amount of time you commit to the club depends on you but we do need people who are willing to help when the events are being held. The club holds meetings twice a month from September to the end of June (first and third Thursday) with people serving on various committees. Our meetings are supper meetings and this provides opportunity for us to develop close friendships and to enjoy each others company.

Some of the activities such as Rockn’August, Cosmo Babies and Kids Sale, Curling Funspiel, and Bingo are described under Fundraising Events. Other events happen as new ideas are brought forward by the membership. On occasion the other Cosmopolitan clubs in the area will help us or we will help them. Rock’n August is such a joint effort.

Social events are also part of the clubs activities. We always have a Christmas social and a year end social. Other socials occur according to membership wishes. Also as part of Cosmopolitan International and the Western Canada Federation, one is able to take part in their conventions so one has a chance to travel, meet new people, and make new friends.

We do hold a couple of membership nights during the year in which we give a summary of what we are about. Following on the why join page is what one fairly recent member had to say about joining and a fun skit about asking someone to join. You can also become a member at any time by contacting svcosmo@svcosmo.org or contacting a club member. Take a look at our donations page to see what a difference we are making.  BE PART OF THAT DIFFERENCE!
