This year the Edmonton Cosmopolitan Club enlisted the help of the St. Albert Cosmopolitan club and our club to help run their annual John Short Golf Classic. The three clubs worked cooperatively to make a very successful event that raises funds to find a cure for diabetes. Even though it was a very rainy day on June 9th, the golfers had a great day. Below are some of the pictures showing workers, players and prizes. Shared Cosmopolitan events are a great way to have fun and meet others.

We are one of the host members of Rock’n August. Visit their official site by clicking on the logo above. This is a major fundraising event for raising funds to find a cure for diabetes and is loads of fun with lots of cars and a variety of activities.

Club members are very motivated and constantly seek ways to raise money. Two fundraising events are the Cosmo Tots’ Treasures and a Curling Funspiel. As well the area Cosmopolitan clubs are one of the five member hosts in Rock’n August and volunteers from our club are very busy then as this is a major event in St. Albert. We also work a few bingos and the occasional casino. One of our projects involves the sale of Dana’s Disease, a book written by a local author about his experiences when his three year old daughter got type 1 diabetes. Various other fundraising activities occur as ideas are presented to the membership.

Service, Unity, Action

Our motto helps us build friendships and work together to find a cure for diabetes!
